If you do not require emergency police assistance but have an electronic device and access to an email address, then please utilize our new online police reports. By filing your report online, we are better able to dispatch officers around the city to respond to crime as it happens. Please note that the Topeka Police Department can only receive reports for crimes that took place within the city limits of Topeka.
Remember, you are filing an official police report. Under Kansas Statutes Annotated 21-5904, anyone filing a false police report may be prosecuted and imprisoned in the county jail for a term not to exceed 12 months and/or fined. Also, any abuse of this application will result in the user’s access being blocked.

Temporary copies are reviewed online by a member of our department within three (3) business days. If you need to add additional victims, damaged or stolen property, or documentation to a police report you made previously with an officer, then please use the “Citizen Supplement.” If you filed your report online, then you may also provide additional information to the same report with the supplement, but please wait until the first report was approved by our staff and issued a final police report number.
